AUK Faculty Strengthen International Research Collaboration Through Dartmouth Partnership

The American University of Kuwait (AUK) is enhancing its global research collaborations with Dartmouth College. Recently, AUK faculty members participated in a research gathering at Dartmouth on July 27, 2026, to explore interdisciplinary research opportunities and strengthen academic ties.

Dr. Amro Nour, Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Dr. Clark Stoeckley, Associate Professor of Art and Graphic Design, represented AUK. Dr. Nour presented PRINTHEAT, a KFAS-funded project on 3D-printed anatomical models for biomedical studies, in collaboration with Dartmouth's Professor Fridon Shubitidze. Dr. Stoeckley, a 2026 Dartmouth Faculty Fellow, showcased his project with Dartmouth's Professor Tricia Treacy on Islamic geometric design and risograph printmaking. Their work will be exhibited at Dartmouth's Nearburg Gallery from August 6–21, 2026.

The event highlighted AUK's expanding research portfolio and potential for international collaboration in engineering, computer science, and interdisciplinary fields. Senior Dartmouth leaders, including Professor Jonathan Smolin and others from the Dartmouth Initiative for Middle East Exchange (DIMEX), attended the event.

AUK and Dartmouth have maintained a successful partnership for over two decades, focusing on faculty research, student programs, and collaborative initiatives under DIMEX. This partnership supports AUK's mission to advance research excellence, innovation, and global engagement, preparing graduates for contributions to Kuwait and the global community.
