AUK Hosts Pioneering Workshop for Al Rayan Schools on the Future of AI in Education

The American University of Kuwait (AUK) hosted a professional development workshop for over 24 senior leaders from Al Rayan Holding Company’s private schools in Kuwait, titled “Adopting AI in Schools: Strategies, Ethics, and Practical Tools for Future-Ready Education.” The event focused on the role of AI in K–12 education and included principals, academic directors, and curriculum specialists.
Held at AUK’s campus, the workshop emphasized AUK’s dedication to regional educational innovation and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
The keynote address by Dr. Roman Kulchitsky, Associate Professor of International Relations & Public Policy at AUK, highlighted strategic pathways for integrating AI literacy and ethical decision-making in education, advocating a policy-informed, pedagogy-first approach.
AUK faculty led hands-on sessions on:
Professional development and teacher readiness
Curriculum alignment with AI tools
Ethical safeguards for students
Classroom applications like adaptive learning and assessment automation
The event featured a showcase by AUK’s Data Club, where students demonstrated AI projects linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting real-world applications of emerging technologies.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Lana Al Ayyar, CEO and Chairperson of Al Rayan Holding Company, praised the collaboration between AUK and Al Rayan Schools, stating:
