The Library of the American University of Kuwait (AUK) participated in the 48th edition of the Kuwait International Book Fair, which brought together more than 600 exhibitors from across the region and beyond. This year’s fair coincided with Kuwait being named the Arab Capital of Culture and Media for 2025.
AUK’s participation was co-sponsored by KIPCO, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting cultural and educational initiatives.

AUK’s booth showcased the Oral History and Documentation Project, featuring curated audio excerpts from figures such as Abdullah Bishara, Former Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Sarah Akbar, Co-Founder and Former CEO of Kuwait Energy. These narratives highlight Kuwait’s maritime heritage, major historical milestones, and contemporary developments.
The booth also attracted interest from prospective students and families seeking information about AUK’s academic programs. In addition, AUK organized a field trip for students and staff to visit the fair and explore the exhibition halls.
AUK’s participation reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to cultural engagement and learning beyond the classroom.
