Burgan Bank Retains FTSE4Good Index Series Inclusion, Reinforcing its ESG Leadership

Burgan Bank remains part of the FTSE4Good Index Series after the June 2026 review by FTSE Russell, which measures companies with strong ESG practices. This reflects Burgan Bank's efforts to strengthen its ESG framework, enhance transparency, and integrate sustainability into its strategy and operations.
CEO Mr. Fadel Abdullah emphasized the Bank's dedication to sustainability as a core strategy, creating value for clients, employees, and stakeholders. Burgan is committed to advancing its ESG agenda in line with global standards.
Burgan Bank has made significant progress in integrating environmental considerations into its business, assessing 70% of its corporate portfolio for ESG risks, and supporting sustainable projects. It maintained its LEED Gold certification and improved waste management practices.
Socially, the Bank achieved Great Place to Work® certification, introduced employee well-being initiatives, and promoted diversity and inclusion. It also supported national talent development and engaged in community contributions, including financial literacy and youth empowerment initiatives.
Governance improvements included achieving ISO 22301 certification and enhancing cybersecurity and data governance. The Bank also improved its ESG data capabilities and transparency.
Looking forward, Burgan Bank aims to expand sustainable finance, deepen environmental and social engagement, and enhance ESG disclosures, aligning with Kuwait Vision 2035 and supporting sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
